Body of Water, a solo exhibition by Cansu Pylkkänen, was showcased at Think Gallery from October 30th to December 17th, 2023. This collection invites viewers on an artistic journey to reconnect with the intrinsic bond between the human body and water. Through the use of vibrant color as a narrative tool, the work evokes feelings of introspection, isolation, meditation, spirituality, and nostalgia.
The abstraction in the imagery fosters metaphorical meanings, leaving each piece open to personal interpretation. Deliberately avoiding darkness, the collection focuses on positivity, presenting water as a source of beauty, peace, and affection. The works reflect a sense of surrender to the familiar—the timeless relationship between people and the sea.
